Dave Jones

I am a writing and literature teacher working at four schools set along the Ohio River as it winds through Owensboro, KY and Evansville, IN.  I was lucky enough to marry my wife, Jamie,  in 2004, and our family is just us and four rambunctious, highly “liberated” cats.  I took a Master’s Degree in English, writing a short collection of poetry for my thesis — and that will stay forever on my bookshelf, never to see the light of day.

I am currently working on a  PhD in Rhetoric and Textual Studies from Old Dominion University.  Much of that work will appear in some form on this blog.

I’m interested in politics, writing, rhetoric, literature, philosophy, pop culture (particularly videogames), and baseball (Go Cubbies…).  I’ll probably touch on all of these things here.   I also write for The Hog’s Head, Travis Prinzi’s blog devoted to Harry Potter discussion.
